BSc (Hons) Forensic Investigation, Glasgow Caledonian University
MRSC Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry
Yvonne received her BSc (Hons) degree in Forensic Investigation from the Glasgow Caledonian University in 2009.
Yvonne joined Hawkins HFS in 2013, specialising in fire and explosion investigation and agricultural cargo claims. Yvonne quickly became involved in investigating the causes of fires in offices, factories, storage yards and residential premises, as well as appliance and vehicle fires and cargo related incidents.
On the marine side, she has investigated fires on general cargo vessels and attended ‘live’ incidents on bulk cargo vessels involving reactive cargos such as silicon carbide. Yvonne has also worked on cases involving liquefaction of cargo such as bauxite and is also experienced with the laboratory work concerning the determination of flow point and moisture content. More recently, Yvonne has been heavily involved with agricultural claims pertaining to soybeans/DDGS and is experienced with sampling techniques and the laboratory analysis used to determine physical and chemical properties of the cargo.
In June 2015, Yvonne successfully completed the Fire Science and Investigation course at the University of Edinburgh and is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
