Two of our experts attended a three day survival course which is essential for anyone wishing to travel offshore by helicopter.

The course consisted of:

• First Aid
• Sea Survival :- Donning of transit suit, use of re-breather, boarding life rafts from the water, swimming, being rescued by winch, climbing into a Jacob's cradle
• Helicopter Evacuation :- 3 escapes from a sinking helicopter, 3 escapes from an inverted sinking helicopter
• Fire survival :- Use of fire-fighting equipment and escape from a simulated smoke filled building while wearing a smoke hood.
• Skyscape :- Practice abandoning a platform using the Selantic Skyscape Evacuation System.

This means that David Rose, based in our Cambridge office and John Holland, in our Glasgow office, can now work offshore thus enhancing our capabilities with regards to oil rigs and marine losses.
