Further electrical training at Hawkins

The third cohort of Hawkins investigators has successfully completed our practical electrical training course, which is accredited with the Chartered Society of Forensic Science.

The course, part of a programme of advanced electrical training currently being rolled out at Hawkins, provides practical reinforcement for the City & Guilds 2382-10 course which our investigators had already completed. The City & Guilds course enables a detailed understanding of the contents of BS7671 the 17th edition of the UK Wiring Regulations.

Colleagues from our offices in Hong Kong, Reigate and Glasgow attended the two-day practical course. The course includes the typical inspection, testing and certification undertaken by electrical contractors at the completion of a new electrical installation and the type of inspection and testing undertaken periodically during the life of the electrical system. The course also demonstrates the effects of a lost-neutral, a situation where voltages vary which can lead to electrical damage and/or a fire.

To find out more about electrical training please visit Gardiner Associates Training & Research (GATR) website, or contact our Reigate office for more information. GATR is part of the Hawkins Group.
