Hawkins welcomes new mechanical engineer

We are pleased to announce that Mr Richard Baker has joined our growing team of mechanical engineers.

Richard graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2010 with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering. During his time at university Richard spent a summer at Schlumberger, working on the design of directional oilfield drilling tools. Upon leaving university, Richard spent seven and a half years working for 2H Offshore, an engineering consultancy specialising in the design and analysis of offshore structures. Richard was based out of the London office, but also worked in Aberdeen, Houston, Perth Australia, Kuala Lumpur and Qatar.

During his time with 2H Offshore Richard expanded his knowledge of the oil and gas industry. Richard’s work involved engineering solutions in the offshore domain, typically for risers, conductors, and minimal facilities platforms, and his experience includes structural response monitoring.

Richard was promoted to the position of Principal Engineer at 2H Offshore before he joined Hawkins in May 2017.

Richard is currently an Associate based in our Reigate office.
