Supporting Sea-Change

Hawkins is proud to be supporting the Sea-Change Sailing Trust, a charity which provides opportunities for vulnerable young people and adults to live and work aboard a traditional sailing vessel. These residential trips encourage participants to take increasing responsibility for their decisions and contributions to the group. Our donation was made to Sea-Change’s Sailing Barge Appeal which aims to create a working replica of the Blue Mermaid, a steel sailing barge built in 1930, but lost during the Second World War.

Don Ramsey, Trust Administrator at Sea-Change, said, “We are most grateful for the support we receive and are looking forward to the day when Blue Mermaid is fully commissioned.”

Visit the Sea-Change website for more information about Sea-Change and their Sailing Barge Appeal.
