Experience

Chris's career background is in manufacturing and electrical engineering.  He joined Hawkins in July 2008 and is based in our London office.  His work involves the investigation of fires and other losses involving electrical engineering, including poor equipment performance and control system failures.

Before joining Hawkins he worked for two years for Fluor Limited, an Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor.  He worked in the Energy and Chemicals department on Oil & Gas and Petrochemical projects.  His work included hazardous area classification, electrical load distribution assessment, cable sizing and preparation of project notes and specifications.

Before Fluor, Chris worked for thirteen years for a multi-national imaging company which manufactures photographic film and paper.  Chris spent the majority of his time there working as a Conveyance Engineer on the paper and film tracks, responsible for drives and controls and corona discharge and electrostatic pre-treatment. His work also involved the use of process verification for predictive maintenance and systems reliability.  Later, he became a Shift Operations Manager in the Graphics Film Sensitising Department.

Chris completed a multi-discipline indentured apprenticeship including training in electrical, mechanical and instrumentation systems.  He studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering at ONC and HNC levels.  He then obtained an honours degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering.  In 2005, Chris achieved Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
