Nicola graduated from Reading University in 2008 with a 1st Class Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, specialising in the mechanical properties and fracture mechanisms of materials.

On graduation she joined Fluor in Surrey, working in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) industry and specifically in the oil and gas sector. With this experience Nicola went on to join KBR. During this time, she specialised as a mechanical and materials engineer, specifying equipment and materials for large scale oil and gas processing plants around the world.

Nicola joined Hawkins in 2010 and is a Principal Associate based in our Reigate office. Since joining Hawkins, she has carried out over 500 forensic investigations involving escapes of water and oil, engineering failures, material failures, fires, personal injuries and explosions. Nicola has led investigations of a domestic, industrial and commercial nature, which have ranged in size from small losses through to multi-million pound complex claims.

Nicola is experienced in the legal process and the preparation of CPR Part 35 compliant reports. She has experience advising solicitors and Counsel on technical engineering issues. She is a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Nicola is also the Marketing Manager for Hawkins.
