Bristol Forensic Fun Day receives excellent feedback

Our Bristol office recently hosted a group of clients from Cunningham Lindsey and Covéa at our latest Forensic Fun Day.

The day started with a brief presentation about Hawkins and the services we offer, followed by a trip to our secure exhibit store, where we keep articles that have been sent to our labs for investigation. After that, the group moved on to our fire lab where demonstrations and case examples were given on electrical fires, gas explosions and self-heating. Following that, the group moved to the engineering lab where a hands-on demonstration on water leaks saw them making their own soldered joint, and then putting it to the test to see if they should assume a new job as a plumber! The group then had a demonstration of the equipment in our microscope room before breaking for lunch. Attendees were able to ask our experts questions throughout the day, and after lunch presentations were given on fire retardants and plastic, and escapes of water.

Feedback from the event was excellent, with one attendee saying, “I found the day very interesting with the engineers with whom we spoke being clearly very experienced and knowledgeable on their subject. In particular I found the activity of soldering a plumbing joint and thereafter inspecting the integrity of this under your microscope of interest, as well as the presentation given at the end of the day”
