Hawkins Wishes a Happy Retirement to Vanessa Wade & Richard Fletcher

Hawkins would like to wish a very happy retirement to both Vanessa Wade and Richard Fletcher.

Vanessa Wade and her desk on her last day

Vanessa Wade retires after 7 years with Hawkins, and we would like to thank her for her work with us. Vanessa made a huge contribution to the smooth running of the office in Reigate. She had a great sense of humour and provided many funny stories. Vanesa also helped to organise several lovely afternoon teas for her Reigate colleagues at various celebratory occasions. She will be much missed. Reigate Office Manager Helen Child and secretary Helen Smith decorated Vanessa’s desk on her last day.

Richard Fletcher

Richard Fletcher retires almost exactly 29 years after joining at Hawkins. Richard says he has, “had a great time with some very interesting cases and fantastic colleagues” and that, “it was a privilege to serve as Managing Director for a number of years.” As well as investigating numerous fires throughout his time with us, Richard became a Director of Hawkins in 2004 and Managing Director in 2006. After a very successful tenure as Managing Director, he stepped down from the Board in 2013, to return to full time forensic investigation. He has carried out over 1500 investigations, both in the UK and Overseas ranging from consumer electrical fires to renewable energy systems and fires in large generators and transformers. Richard’s daughter, Hannah, now follows in his footsteps as a fire investigator in our Reigate Office. We hope Richard continues with his other passions, including bee keeping, during his retirement.
