The 2019 ALARM Conference

This year Hawkins brought several delegates to the ALARM Risk Conference in Manchester from 23‑24 June. On the first day, Forensic Investigator Andy Ingle (of Hawkins’ Reigate Office) attended with Business Development Manager Graeme Drysdale (right). The following Day, Graeme was joined by Investigators Richard Giles-Carlsson (left) and Jonathan Emm (middle), both from Hawkins’ Manchester Office.

The conference’s theme for 2019 was Working Together, and the Hawkins exhibitors certainly teamed up to answer any questions from visitors to our stand regarding claims caused by fires, escapes of water, civil engineering failures, and Hawkins’ services in general. There were 30 workshop sessions available for conference attendees involved in all aspects of the risk management industry, and some of the sessions attended by Hawkins included: Subsidence Claims - Coping with Surge, which was presented by DAC Beachcroft, and Escape of Water - The Number One Priority, presented by Crawford & Co. Risks covered in the workshops ranged from the seemingly benign subject of risks involved when working from home, up to the catastrophic Grenfell fire tragedy.

While the ALARM Risk Awards took place on 24 June, Hawkins also had a small prize of our own to award. The lucky business card was drawn by Julie Gray of ALARM and won by Dina Magdi of London Borough of Waltham Forest.
