10th December 2018
On Tuesday 4 December Sarah Hooton, a fire engineer in Hawkins’ London Office, gave a seminar on fire engineering and fire spread entitled: There’s No Smoke Without Fire: Fire Safety Design, Construction and Management Challenges.
Sarah has said of the subject of her presentation that, “Despite a range of high profile fires in recent years, there are those who continue to believe that the current regulatory system is fit for purpose.” With respect to the relevant documentation and guidance, Sarah gave a brief overview of the current regulations relating to fire safety and highlighted some of the challenges faced by the industry. Following the seminar, guests adjourned for drinks at London’s Cheshire Cheese pub.
