Three Peaks Challenge

Hawkins was proud to sponsor the daughter of one of our colleagues who recently took on the challenge of completing the “Yorkshire Three Peaks” in order to raise funds for Action Against Hunger.

At the top of the 2nd peak – Whernside. Proudly wearing my sponsors t-shirt!

Said Eve Horsfall, “I recently completed a hike which involved climbing three peaks in the Yorkshire Dales and walking 25 miles in the process. At first I set a target of £250 to raise for the hike, however after giving my Dad cakes to take in to his office to sell and fundraise I had to rapidly rethink this target. I was astonished by the donations that I received from both the company and the people that work there. On that day I had to increase my target not once but twice! I raised nearly double my original target and, as part of a team of 15, we raised over £4000 - a large part of that is due to the generosity of Hawkins.

“The hike itself was one of the hardest challenges that I have ever completed, but I never had any doubt that I was going to finish it. I told myself that I would see it through to the end even if it meant crawling up the last peak which was so steep that I was nearly crawling! We finished it in 11 hours and 53 minutes, just shy of the 12 hours target. Then we went straight to the pub!

“Thanks again to all at Hawkins for being so generous! It’s not too late to donate! karnimachupicchu.everydayhero.com/uk/eve
