Waleed Khan Joins Hawkins' Road Traffic Collision Investigation Team

Waleed joins Hawkins after graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2020.

He received a First class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, which included subject areas covering Mechanical Design, Computational Fluid dynamics, Finite Element Analysis, and Inter-disciplinary design projects. Waleed’s final year project was to design and produce an affordable wearable device to heat and cool the human body. During the COVID-19 lockdown, Waleed independently researched and successfully delivered the project using Solidworks, Arduino coding and MATLAB Simulink. He is also multilingual, speaking English, Urdu, Punjabi, and Hindko.

Over each summer during his degree, Waleed took the opportunity to work for two different start-up companies. Although hired for Market research, start-ups require a vast array of skills and, therefore, his duties expanded to cover Web-design, media management and CAD supervision. After gaining inspiration from the start-up community, Waleed opened the University’s first Virtual Reality Society in his final year to explore innovative technologies and deliver teaching material in unique methods.

Waleed joined Hawkins in October 2020 and is an RTA assistant, who will be using his skills and understanding of innovative technologies and presentation to explore areas of improvement in services.

He is an Associate based in our Birmingham office.
