Hawkins Welcomes Materials Engineer Caroline O’Keffee

Chemistry & Contamination
Caroleine O'Keeffe

We are delighted to welcome Dr Caroline O’Keeffe, who joins Hawkins as an Associate in our London office.

Caroline brings a multidisciplinary background spanning forensic science, materials engineering, and specialist technical analysis. She began her career with a BSc (Hons) in Forensic Chemistry, followed by an MSc in Forensic Engineering and Science, establishing a strong technical foundation for her investigative work. Early in her career, she gained hands-on experience during an internship with law enforcement before moving into roles as a firearms and vehicles analyst and later as a forensic drug practitioner, where she specialised in the identification and profiling of illicit substances.

Her career evolved into advanced research and development, working as a propellant chemist and subsequently completing a PhD in Composite Materials, further enhancing her expertise in material behaviour and failure analysis. She then moved into the aerospace sector, applying her technical knowledge to material development and testing. Most recently, Caroline worked in Germany as a Technical Engineer, where she was responsible for developing and maintaining specialised testing equipment used in the analysis of ship fuels and lubricant oils.

We are pleased to have Caroline on board and look forward to the valuable expertise she will bring to our investigations and to our clients.
