Hawkins Welcomes Chemical & Materials Engineer Dr Liam Teggin

Chemistry & Contamination / Materials Failures
Liam Teggin New starter

We are delighted to welcome Dr Liam Teggin to Hawkins as an Associate in our Glasgow office.

Liam graduated with First Class Honours in Chemical and Materials Engineering from the University of Leeds, where he developed design solutions to  improve operations at the nuclear waste storage and reprocessing site in Cumbria.

He later completed a PhD investigating the impact of rapid solidification processing on phase transformations in a new class of metal alloys known as high-entropy alloys. His research involved advanced characterisation techniques, including optical and electron microscopy, Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) spectroscopy, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), as well as thermodynamic modelling to predict alloy phase transformation behaviour.

Liam joined Hawkins in November 2025, bringing expertise in materials engineering and alloy behaviour to support our forensic investigations. We look forward to the valuable contributions he will bring to the team.
