We are delighted to welcome Ellie Hurley to Hawkins as an Associate based in our London office. Ellie is a Civil Engineer with a strong specialism in highways design and engineering, supported by experience in urban realm improvement, active travel infrastructure, and utilities coordination.
Ellie’s career began at AECOM, where she undertook an internship designing vehicle restraint barriers for the M6 Smart Motorway scheme. After graduating with first-class honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester, Ellie joined Arcadis as part of their Graduate Programme, gaining experience across highways and transportation projects.
Ellie’s work has included:
- Project Management for Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, securing funding approvals for active travel and green corridor schemes.
- Utilities Management for HS2, achieving Level 3 assurance sign-off for major diversionary works and earning a “People and Culture” award.
- Design Leadership on high-profile urban realm and cycle safety improvement schemes, including the Oxford Street Programme and frameworks for Transport for London and local authorities.
Ellie also brings commercial experience in bid preparation and change management, alongside a strong commitment to professional development and wellbeing. She has led training initiatives, acted as a Mental Health First Aider, and volunteered on STEM outreach programmes to inspire future engineers.
Ellie will strengthen Hawkins’ expertise in highways design, infrastructure planning, and multidisciplinary coordination, supporting our clients with robust solutions for complex projects.
