Hawkins Welcomes Electrical Engineer Oscar Jones

We are pleased to welcome Oscar Jones to Hawkins as an Associate in our Bristol office. 

Oscar began his engineering career with an apprenticeship as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer at Warburtons, gaining hands-on experience in machine maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting across a wide range of industrial technologies. 

He graduated with a First-Class MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nottingham. During his studies, Oscar focused on power electronics and control systems, completing a dissertation on simulating and developing control methods for HVDC converters.  

After graduating, Oscar joined Siemens as a Graduate Engineer, spending a year in Berlin on Siemens’ International Tech Talents program. His work included training on PLCs, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), robotics, and leading a nine-month project to develop an Automated Guided Vehicle. Oscar also worked as a Field Service Engineer, commissioning and servicing VSDs ranging from under 1kW to over 1MW across industries including power generation, water treatment, recycling, and mining.
