Joining Hawkins in 2020 as a Researcher in our Reigate office before progressing to Associate, Inigo’s core focus has been on expanding and strengthening Hawkins’ offerings in Digital Forensic Services.
Inigo’s key areas of specialism include:
- Forensic photogrammetry: Determining camera positions and extracting dimensional information relevant to insurance and legal investigations.
- Image and audio processing: Interpreting and adjusting multimedia evidence (e.g. colour and contrast improvements, enlargements, noise reductions, spectral processing) to refine visibility or audibility of existing details.
- Multimedia authenticity analysis: Investigating potential manipulations of image, audio, and video files.
- Video analysis and CCTV recovery: Extracting and analysing data from Digital Video Recorders (DVRs).
- Geomatics and sensor data analysis: Measuring and illustrating data such as 3D geospatial information.
- Mathematical and computational modelling: Developing models and tools through programming (e.g. differential modelling of projectile motion, JPEG image quality estimation).
- Site investigation support: Conducting laser scanning and drone photogrammetry to assist colleagues on-site.
- 3D and VR presentation: Creating interactive and user-friendly virtual reality environments from 3D datasets.
Inigo graduated from the University of Warwick with a First-Class Master’s Degree in Mathematics, having studied topics including Machine Learning, Advanced Real Analysis, and Group Theory. His dissertation project explored the mathematics behind Linear Inverse Theory with applications in medical tomography. This included programming in MATLAB to demonstrate the inner workings of a CT-scan using randomised algebraic reconstruction techniques (ART).
Inigo is also a certified drone pilot in both the UK and Europe; he regularly conducts aerial surveys for cases involving fires, structural failures, and personal injuries.
