It was a pleasure to welcome guests back to the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester for our annual Spring Drinks Reception.
Marketing Director, Andrew Reeves opened the event with an update on Hawkins’ expansion over the past year, including the recent acquisition of A Lamb Associates and their subsidiary Morham + Brotchie Partnership before handing over to our panel of experts for the CDP presentation.

Our presentation took a deep-dive into the intricacies of a fictitious Major & Complex loss incident, highlighting the unexpected developments that such investigations can take. It opened with a personal injury resulting from a structural collapse at a construction site, leading to further unforeseen consequences.
We would like to thank our guest speakers, Loss Adjuster, Chris Boggis, from Woodgate & Clark and Solicitor, Peter Crossland, from Horwich Farrelly, as well as Hawkins’ investigators, Thomas Leyland, Dr Virginie Landais, Robert Taylor, and Marie Hayward, for joining us and sharing their expertise.

Following the presentations, guests were invited to network, with drinks and canapes in the Gallery where several exhibits were available to examine and test their investigative skills. The exhibits featured a VR headset offering a virtual fire scene tour, showcasing Hawkins’ use of drones and photogrammetry in investigations, and ‘Guess the Accelerant’ which allowed guests to step into the shoes of a fire investigator as they tried to identify the scents of different accelerants.
