Heading up this exciting development is Joe Penn, who brings a unique combination of technical expertise and investigative experience.
Joe has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand, where his thesis focused on the disaggregation of signals in domestic power supplies.
His career spans:
- Control systems engineering for renewable energy plants, including SCADA interfaces and grid connection programming.
- Software development for online platforms and back-end systems, using technologies such as ASP.NET, SQL, Python, and JavaScript
- Forensic investigation of fires in residential, commercial, and industrial properties, as well as vehicles and machinery
- Failure analysis of electrical, electronic, and control systems
With Joe leading the way, Hawkins is pleased to extend its reach into South Africa, offering clients expert support in electrical engineering, fire investigation, and complex system failures.
