Hawkins Welcomes RTC Investigator Luke Hooper-Fitch

Road Traffic Collisions
Luke Hooper-fitch

We are delighted to welcome Luke Hooper-Fitch to Hawkins as an Associate, based in our Birmingham office.

Luke brings over twelve years of experience across a range of road traffic collision (RTC) disciplines, with specialist expertise in collision investigation and crime scene analysis. He graduated from Coventry University in 2009 with a BSc (Hons) in Forensic and Investigative Studies, and began his career with Thames Valley Police as a Police Community Support Officer. In 2013, he progressed to the role of Crime Scene Investigator (CSI).

During his time as a CSI, Luke attended a diverse array of crime scenes, including fail-to-stop road traffic collisions, and contributed to several high-profile investigations. He also played a key role developing training programmes for new staff.

In 2019, Luke transitioned into the role of Forensic Collision Investigator and led investigations at live scenes involving serious injury and fatal road traffic collisions, applying advanced techniques such as 3D laser scanning, coefficient of friction testing, and line-of-sight assessments. His work covered all types of road users, from pedestrians and cyclists to heavy goods vehicles.

Luke has produced Expert Witness reports for both criminal and courts and has provided testimony in Magistrates’, Crown, and Coroner’s Courts. He is highly skilled in reconstructing collisions using both physical evidence and digital tools such as CAD and 3D laser scan data, and has extensive experience in interpreting vehicle damage profiles.

We are thrilled to have Luke on board and look forward to the expertise and insight he brings to our investigations.

Welcome to Hawkins, Luke.
