As Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) become increasingly common, noise has emerged as a key consideration for designers, developers, planners and local authorities.
While ASHP technology plays an important role in decarbonisation strategies, poorly considered installations can result in complaints from neighbouring occupants, planning difficulties and costly mitigation measures. Understanding how noise is generated, how it propagates through the environment, and how local planning authorities assess acoustic impact is therefore critical to successful project delivery.
In this webinar, Marie Gauthier will examine the principal noise issues associated with ASHP installations and the acoustic assessments commonly required to support planning applications. Particular focus will be given to London borough requirements, the application of BS 4142:2014+A1:2019, and the differing approaches adopted by local authorities.
