Originally from Italy, Andrea completed a MSci degree in materials science and metallurgy at the University of Cambridge, undertaking research projects on superalloy heat treatments and battery manufacturing during this period.

In 2021, he started a PhD program in the fields of advanced ceramic processing and waste pyrolysis within the Energy Materials Group at the University of St Andrews. During these doctoral studies, Andrea prepared porous ceramic catalysts and built a pyrolysis reactor for testing. He is experienced in ceramic fabrication, inorganic chemistry, high-temperature processes and gas chromatography. 

Andrea joined Hawkins in October 2025 as an Associate based in our Cambridge office. So far, he has primarily investigated many domestic and business fires as well as water fitting failures. At weekends, Andrea volunteers as a repairer at Cambridge Repair Café.
