Hawkins is delighted to welcome Chemical Engineer, Sam A’Court, to our Reigate office.

Sam graduated with first-class honours in Chemical Engineering before joining BP’s upstream business as a process and process safety engineer. Sam worked on the Shah Deniz 2 project, a major gas development in the Caspian Sea, before relocating to BP’s North Sea region where he provided direct operations and troubleshooting support to the ETAP (Electrical Transient Analyzer Program) production platform. He later joined the crew of the Glen Lyon, the world’s largest harsh-water, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. Sam played a leading role in commissioning and starting up critical production and utility systems, including gas compression, waste heat recovery, and sand removal and treatment.

In 2020, Sam joined NOV’s Wellstream Processing business unit as a senior process engineer, providing clients with technical expertise in brownfield process optimisation, debottlenecking, and performance improvement of onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities through technical studies and equipment modifications.

Sam has a wealth of hands-on experience in the design, operation, maintenance, and modification of a broad spectrum of process, utility, and safety systems including separation, heat exchange, produced water treatment, relief systems, and gas dehydration.

Alongside his chemical engineering expertise, Sam has now extended his capabilities to include the investigation of fires, and escapes of water.
