CEng   Chartered Engineer

Eur Ing   European Engineer

On leaving university Andrew joined the Engineering Department of ICI, Teesside where he worked alongside an experienced group of colleagues covering a wide range of engineering disciplines.

On joining Hawkins over 30 years ago, he was trained to investigate fires and explosions, now concentrating on the engineering side of these events in the process, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and energy sectors, as well as investigating other engineering failures in UK and internationally. The growth of the renewable energy sector has led him to become Hawkins’ lead investigator in anaerobic digestion, as well as in chemical exposures and related incidents.

Andrew has carried out more than 1500 investigations, of all shapes and sizes, and is therefore one of Hawkins' most experienced investigators as well as being one of its most experienced litigation specialists and expert witnesses at all levels of Court in the UK and elsewhere.

Having spent 19 years on the Hawkins Board, including a dozen as Board Chairman, during which time he oversaw the internationalisation of the Hawkins group, Andrew has now stepped back from direct corporate leadership roles to be a full time investigator and project leader once more. He is based in the Cambridge office.
